Jeff is the Creative Lead for the Healthcare and Life Sciences team, as well as a co-practice lead for Brighton’s copywriters. With a journalism degree from Washington University and his master’s in American culture studies, Jeff is well versed in expressing the human narrative through impeccably written prose. He’s been working (and playing) in the agency world for about 25 years but began in health sciences at Elsevier, first as a Journal Publisher and later as a Producer. To further diversify his experience, he founded Jeff Ryals Communications and started working as a strategic consultant and writer/producer for clients including BJC, Christian Hospital, BJC Medical Group, Washington University, MiTek, Bayer and the Nano Science and Technology Institute. Today, Jeff helps develop the strategy, marketing communications and creative for Centene and its lines of business, including Ambetter, Allwell, Envolve and state Medicaid plans.
Even in his free time, Jeff is all about strategy. He competes on several USTA tennis teams and fences, both left-handed, which annoys his opponents to no end. Like a true Renaissance man, he balances all of his left-brain work with oil painting, writing and spending quality time with his dog, Birdie.
